Showcase unit gains plaudits for creative use of minimal space.
Dancing on the ceiling...
When our client Macroart, a wide format printing company specialising in live events, was invited to take part in an industry event to showcase innovative ideas they knew they wanted a different approach to the norm.
Moving away from a typical showcase of print swatches, the brief was to use a combination of system and print finishes in a fun, attention-grabbing manner.
Designed around a 2.5m open fronted box the team created a period correct inverted lounge, complete with real props from the release year of the single “dancing on the ceiling” by Lionel Richie.
The core structure incorporated modular Aluvision panels with bespoke Aluvista load bearing aluminium brace supports to give a final enclosure that could deal with visitors interacting with the stand and the authentic and heavy props, complete with working lighting and audio features.
The unit broke down into modular pieces and with much of the work done ahead of the event the final installation and build time on site was 4 hours from drop to completion.
The solution demonstrated the strength of the systems, the fabrication and print interaction techniques and the business' attention to detail in its production and finishes.
The final display created an interactive and immersive space built around a social media photo opportunity which also served as a great ice breaker. Visitors were encouraged to have their photos taken in the room with the final effect achieved by rotating the photos so they appeared to be ‘on the ceiling’.
Entered into the category for Best Stand Up to 24 metres square Aluvista’s Lionel Rich Tea activation has been chosen as a finalist for the first ever World Exhibition Stand Awards, winners announced on 16th May 2019.
